As a volunteer, what is expected of me?
The 30th SEA Games will take place from Nov. 30 – Dec. 11, 2019. Most volunteer functions will be concentrated during this time. Each day, there will be a need for different volunteer functional areas in the different venues spread across the country. Volunteers will be deployed for a maximum of 8 hours per day. Volunteers will be taking shifts during the events. It is important to note that, although there is no maximum number of days that a volunteer can be a part of the games, volunteers must at least be able to commit to four (4) days / shifts during the 30th SEA Games.
All volunteers will have at least one (1) day of training to be scheduled sometime between August – October (usually held on a Saturday). Attendance in this training is required for deployment as a volunteer. Some Functional Areas require specialized trainings, these will be done once you have been assigned your volunteer roles.
The 30th SEA Games will require the patience and passion of everyone to make it a success! Together, let us make the Filipinos proud!
Are volunteers from Visayas, Mindanao, or other further areas welcome in the 2019 SEA Games?
Yes you are! We are extremely grateful to our fellow Filipinos who want to come and represent their nation despite the distance to their homes. Together, we will make the 30th SEA Games a success!
Unfortunately though, we will not be able to shoulder any accommodations or transportation expenses from those areas. Transportation that we will provide for every volunteer is a Point-to-Point (P2P) transport system between designated pick-up points within Metro Manila, Clark, and Subic.
Please note that attendance is required in all mandatory trainings.
Are international volunteers welcome?
Yes! We would love to have our friends from different nations be a part of the Volunteers Program. This will be an opportunity to share the love of the games with each other and to learn from one another. Together, we will all make the 30th SEA Games a success!
Unfortunately, we will not be able to shoulder any accommodations or flight expenses. Once in the Philippines though, we can coordinate effective transportation related to the 30th SEA Games events or volunteer trainings with our international volunteers through a Point-to-Point (P2P) transport system. As the volunteer training is mandatory, we will coordinate with you as to how we will proceed with it.
We are more than grateful to the volunteers willing to come from the different nations! We will contact you concerning the Volunteers Program and your inclusion in it. After assessing and evaluating your applications, we will be scheduling online interviews for our shortlisted applicants. Please bear with us as we are doing our best to get back to you at the soonest most practicable time.
Please do not book/purchase tickets based on your acceptance to the Volunteer Program until you have received final confirmation of your application.

Volunteer Training
What kind of training will I receive as a volunteer?
As a 30th SEA Game Volunteer, you will be trained in two phases:
Phase One: General Training
All Volunteers will have to undergo this one (1) day (whole day) training which will focus on quality customer service, team-building, and developing a common identity. You will also be oriented on the history of SEA Games, facts about the host country, participating countries, sporting events that will be taking place, and other necessary information to carry out your respective roles.
Phase Two: Specific Training
Depending on the Functional Area that you will be volunteering for, specific trainings will vary. Specific Trainings such as, but are not limited to, processes regarding accreditation and distribution of uniforms, household management for the Athletes Village, and protocols for all 30th SEA Games delegates are some of the many learning opportunities you can experience. Please note that you will only be allowed to attend Phase Two if you have completed Phase One.
