The 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 2019) took place from November 30 to December 11, 2019 in the Philippines. This is the second time the Philippines has hosted the SEA Games after the first time in 1983.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam will host the 32nd SEA Games in 2023. This is the second time Vietnam has hosted the SEA Games after the first time in 2003.
The SEA Games 32 organizing committee is planning to organize a number of new sports, including eSports, Muay Thai, and Petanque.
Indonesia has won the top spot in the 31st SEA Games medal rankings with 248 gold medals, 182 silver medals and 110 bronze medals. Vietnam ranked second with 205 gold medals, 225 silver medals and 223 bronze medals.
Many athletes set new records at SEA Games 31, including swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang of Vietnam and runner Lalu Muhammad Zohri of Indonesia.
SEA Games 31 has been considered a successful congress with the participation of a large number of athletes and spectators.
